TABOULEH !!!!!!!
Have you tried this stuff ?? I made it with all fresh ingredients from da garden and let me tell you, it is divine. I usually like to make tomatoe salad or cucumber salad or salsa, but this is a million times better. You don't have to use the mint, you can use basil or whatever you have/like. Your tastebuds will go crazy with joy. I'm tellin' ya. Sooo good. TABOULEH 2/3 cup bulgur wheat 1/2 cup fresh mint, chopped 1-1/2 cups fresh parsley, chopped 1 large tomato, diced 1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced 2/3 cup green onions, chopped 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice pinch of salt Soak bulgur wheat in cold water for 2 hours (or as directed on package). Drain well, squeezing out any excess water. Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Cover and chill. Serve tabouleh mounded on a bed of lettuce, lemon wedges and warm pita bread. Try with crackers or just eat the whole bowl the way it is !!!! Divine ! |
Re: One of my favorite foods ever...............
yes I have tried it, but I cooked my wheat first because it comes raw in the package, like rice.
Then you let it cool, and serve with any raw veg and herb you want. Excellent altenative to a cold rice summer salad. |
Re: One of my favorite foods ever...............
It is very good. I make it all the time. You can basically throw it together in any fashion, no need for the mint or substitute other stuff. I don't care for it with cucumbers. I do go heavy on the parsely and sometimes add fresh garlic.

Re: One of my favorite foods ever...............
I was first exposed to tabouli by dining in turkish and medditeranen resturants
It goes great with Falafel. It also reminds of My beloved pooch that passed away (Boully) That stuff is awesome.:ok: T |
